This exercise is very simple, applying a roll breakdown to a triplet grid, but notice that it is notated with buzz rolls. It can be, and is encouraged to be played with diddles, but I recommend starting with buzzes. This uses the same basic motion as diddles, decreases the room for error regarding rhythmic and sound quality, and requires more energy, similar to using two baseball bats in the on deck circle. It coincides with the front ensemble exercise ‘Intervals’.
