This is a basic, groovy accent-tap exercise. It adds a little challenge with the ¾ meter (as long as the performer marks time), but the most important part of the exercise is the first 4 measures. Notice that the title says nothing about accents or taps. The intro reminds the performer what a solid 3-inch stroke should feel like, and then proceeds to simply change heights from 12” to 3” (or any pre-designated heights) in varying patterns. It coincides with the front ensemble exercise ‘XY’.
