Brandon began teaching in 2006 upon graduating from high school where he began a career of teaching and writing for many different high school programs. He attended Auburn University where he performed in a variety of ensembles including the Auburn University Drumline, Percussion Ensemble, Symphonic Winds, Concert Band, Campus Band, and Orchestra all while working towards his degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in Music and Business.
Currently, Brandon teaches in the Birmingham, AL area where he works with Spain Park High School and Vestavia Hills High School. Most recently, Brandon has served as tenor tech for the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps (2014) and battery tech/head Tenor Tech with Music City Drum and Bugle Corps (2015-2017).
As a performer, Brandon participated in both the DCI and WGI performance arenas. In DCI, he performed as a member of the Santa Clara Vanguard Cadets (2007-2009) and the Boston Crusaders (2010). In WGI, he performed with Odyssey Percussion Theatre, Frequency Percussion, and Pariah Percussion Theatre.
In 2013, Brandon served as a percussion instructor for the Macy’s Great American Marching Band that performed as the opening act for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. Brandon has also taught at numerous high schools in Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina and Ohio. During the summer of 2013, Brandon was chosen to serve a summer internship with the Pearl Corporation. During that time, he worked alongside the staff at Pearl in both the Sales and Marketing departments finding out first-hand what it takes to run one of the largest percussion instrument companies in the world.
Brandon is a member of the Percussive Arts Society and is proud to be an endorsed artist for Pearl Drums and Adams musical Instruments, Innovative Percussion sticks and mallets and Prologix Percussion. Brandon currently lives in Hoover, AL with his beautiful wife, Michelle, and his dog, Aiden.
